For our first artist highlight of the year, we would look to shine light upon Carlos Sanchez ( @carlossanchez.img )

Carlos is a photographer/videographer from Jacksonville Florida but is currently based in New Orleans. He began doing photography and videos seriously about 5 years ago after casually doing it for friends.

Carlos’s style is a bit unpredictable. This stems from his Gemini zodiac sign and eclectic personality. He also uses his emotions and current state of mind to help fuel his creative process like challenging himself to stay consistent on projects or venturing into discomfort. From a clean linear self portrait to an edgy night scene, he continues to stretch his boundaries.

Crediting other artists such as Trenity Thomas ( @504degrees ), and Rayno ( @thelifeofrayno ) for inspiration, Carlos looks to collaborate with other minds in order to open new realms of his art. Some of his recent work has been with local brands such as Boulevard Etiquette ( @blvdetiquette )and DJs like Aliyuhhhspins ( @aliyuhhhspins ) and Legatron Prime ( @legatronprime ). He has just finished working on a music video for the artist Jireh ( @jirehpc ) entitled “On the Guys” which is his first role at directing.
